World Water Day

Overview

World Water Day is an initiative that grew out of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro. The overall goal of WWD is to raise the profile of water quality at the political level so that water quality considerations are made alongside those of water quantity. The United Nations General Assembly has designated the 22 March of every year to be World Water Day.
