Stream Scene

Summary

Stream Scene is an interactive environmental education activity that focuses on water quality monitoring. Students are encouraged to investigate a virtual pond ecosystem and determine the quality of the habitat. There are two levels; Level 1 is for upper primary (Years 4 – 7) and level 2 is for secondary students (Years 7 – 12). Level 1 is mainly focused on biotic factors though pond scooping activities whereas level 2 the students are challenged to compare and contrast the water quality and 3 different locations in a catchment. Level 2 students also investigate abiotic factors (pH, salinity and temperature) of the freshwater ecosystem.
