Reverse Garbage (Queensland)

Overview

Reverse Garbage (Queensland) is a not-for-profit ecological workers cooperative located in Brisbane that collects and diverts an enormous range of industrial discards (including fabrics, vinyl, timber, wire and tiles) from being disposed to landfill. These materials are then resold back to the community at low cost, often for re-use by schools, local artists, home renovators and craftspeople.

Established to be an environmentally-focused, sustainable and equitable organisation, Reverse Garbage offers educational talks and tours of its warehouse facility for schools and community groups as well as workshops for prep and primary and secondary students.

The Reverse Garbage website also provides a number of links to organisations, community groups and businesses who offer equitable, ethical and eco-friendly products and services, with an emphasis on sustainability, environmental responsibility and recycling of materials.
