How to reduce, reuse and recycle waste

Overview

The How to reduce, reuse and recycle waste in schools guide was developed by ResourceSmart, an initiative of Sustainability Victoria that aims to support schools in embedding sustainability into their school ethos, so that it not only becomes part of the school curriculum but also plays a role in everyday school and community life.

The How to reduce, reuse and recycle waste in schools guide is an excellent resource that not only outlines how to tackle waste issues within the school, but also offers practical strategies to plan, develop and implement green purchasing and waste minimisation programs both in the school and local community.

The guide is also supported by a suite of teaching and learning resources (including units of work, auditing tools and action planners) that provide hands-on learning opportunities and critical thinking experiences for students in Prep to Year 7 to engage with and explore issues related to the amount of waste sent to landfill and sustainable living.
