Green waste matters

Overview

Green waste matters: a guide on green and organic waste management for schools (PDF, 1.5MB) was developed by the Australian Government Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts in 1999 to educate students about the sustainable management of organic waste.

Green waste matters is aimed at students and covers topics such as composting, worm farming and how to develop waste minimisation policies and action plans. It also includes a resource bank, units of work and classroom activities focusing not only on management of green waste, but also sustainability and environmental advocacy and stewardship.
