Water Footprint Network

Overview

The Water Footprint Network (WFN) is an organisation which promotes fair, equitable and sustainable use of fresh water resources worldwide through the concept of water footprints. Water footprints are indicators of fresh water usage that take into account the amount of water directly and indirectly consumed in the production and use of goods and services by manufacturers and the endpoint user. The WFN website contains a number of resources related to water consumption including a water footprint calculator for individuals and a product gallery that lists the amount of water required to produce a variety of foods and consumer goods.
