National Science Week

Overview

National Science Week is an annual event supported by the Federal Government, Australian Science Teachers Association (ASTA), the ABC and CSIRO, which celebrates the contribution of Australian scientists to the world and the ways in which science, engineering, technology and mathematics positively impact on our lives. National Science Week in schools provides students with an opportunity to participate in a range of engaging science activities, where learning is stimulated through fun and excitement and participation of families and the community. Previous National Science Week events held by schools have included science expos, fairs and festivals, astronomy nights, family/community science evenings, laboratory and field excursions, hands-on experiments, workshops and visiting scientist presentations.
