Australian Government Climate Change Authority

Overview

The Climate Change Authority provides independent expert advice to the Australian Government on climate change mitigation initiatives.

Key functions of the office include undertaking reviews and making recommendations on:

  • emissions reduction targets and carbon budgets
  • the Renewable Energy Target
  • the Carbon Farming Initiative, and
  • the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting System.

 Reports and reviews are available online which may be of use as an up-to-date source of information for high school students.
